Like many good ideas, Previewer did not start as a company. It started as a project.
Carson Hinckley, Previewer's co-founder and resident code expert, was working on his personal website. With a background in computer science from BYU and real world experience running operations at CableMaster, Carson enjoys building things that are both functional and visually clean.
While experimenting, he created a sleek and engaging way to showcase products and projects. At the time, it was simply a personal site feature. Useful. Polished. Self contained.
But his younger brother, Callahan, saw something else.
When Callahan was bored in his classes at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he'd do two things: the Wordle and skim Uncrate.
Uncrate showcases cool, new products for wealthy individuals. It's the kind of stuff that makes you think, "Gee, I hope to have that one day!".
Callahan once read a case study on Shopify about how a brand was featured on Uncrate and their sales increased 1000%, or some astronomical amount. All because they were featured on a silly little blog!
He thought how cool it would be if the same thing existed for small, growing brands like he hoped to have one day.
When Callahan saw Carson's project, he thought it was perfect for creating just that. Then, Previewer was born.
Carson and Callahan did not grow up in startup culture. They grew up in a warehouse.
Their family business, Cable Ties Unlimited, meant long days stacking boxes, learning logistics, and seeing firsthand what it takes to build a real business from scratch. That environment shaped how they think about products, operations, and long term value.
Callahan took that foundation and ran with it early.
While still in high school, he launched his first startup with the goal of disrupting the fashion industry. The idea was simple but bold. Blur logos so customers would focus on design and quality instead of brand recognition. It was about giving smaller brands a fair chance.
Later, Callahan founded Grizzly Supply, continuing the family tradition in the cable tie industry while building a modern brand focused on quality and utility.
So when Callahan looked at Carson's project, he did not just see a clean personal website.
He saw a platform. He saw a tool that could help emerging brands get noticed without relying on massive ad spend. He saw a way to continue his mission of leveling the playing field.
Previewer was born from that moment.
