Meet the brands worth knowing.

Mondo Robotics

Meet Beni, Mondo Robotics' "all-terrain camera robot," built to follow and film you in 4K at up to 17.9 mph, swerving around obstacles and even jumping over them. Pick your favorite clips and Beni turns them into a highlight reel; accessories include a wrist-worn Motion Tracker, off-road wheels and hot-swappable batteries. The company traces Beni from a rough concept model in April 2025.

Alessi

Alessi has been making "extraordinary objects since 1921," when Giovanni Alessi and his brother founded Fratelli Alessi Omegna, a "workshop for processing brass and nickel silver sheet, with a foundry." The self-described "Dream Factory" still makes steel products at its Crusinallo factory, and its range covers kettles, coffee makers, tableware, cutlery, barware and home decor.

Brick

Brick takes a hands-on approach to screen time: its "physical app blocker" locks chosen apps with a tap, and unlocking requires a rescan of the device. It was started by "two recent college graduates who've grown up with smartphones." The subscription-free Brick app supports up to 10 custom modes on iPhone and Android, while Brick Night, a Bluetooth beacon for the nightstand, blocks apps automatically at bedtime.

Yumé

Yumé began, its founders say, "at sunset on a sailboat off Waikiki Beach"; co-founders Michael and Haley chose a name from "you + me" that also means dream in Japanese. Its Island Bliss is a "small-batch, lightly carbonated functional beverage" with 1500mg baobab, 200mg choline and 50mg rhodiola, caffeine-free and made with no artificial sweeteners.

VERTU

Founded in 1998 around the idea, credited to designer Franco Nuovo, that a phone could be a luxury object, Vertu makes luxury phones including AI phones such as METAVERTU, along with watches, smart rings and AI earbuds. It offers bespoke and concierge services and says it "introduced true luxury to technology."

Wild West Chocolate

Wild West Chocolate set out to make "a new frontier in chocolate": organic chocolate bars and Bear Claws sweetened only with whole, ground fruit, with no added sugar, sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners. Co-founder Doug Brent and chocolatier Guy Debbas spent 18 months perfecting the bean-to-bar recipe, and the brand gives back to Wild and Scenic Rivers.

JOREST

Tool brand JOREST sells precision screwdriver sets in sizes from 25-in-1 to 152-in-1, plus watch repair kits, car fuses, contour gauges and a mini electric screwdriver.

JONSBO

JONSBO is a Chinese PC hardware maker, founded by "like-minded users in computer users group," that builds computer cases across ATX, M-ATX, ITX, NAS and EATX formats, plus AIO liquid coolers, CPU air coolers, fans and case accessories. It also provides OEM and ODM manufacturing for other brands.

Aerchitect

Aerchitect makes three functional fragrance mists, CALM, FOCUS and GROUND, each formulated for a specific state, which it describes as "nervous system fragrance that works in seconds." The mists are vegan, cruelty-free and gender-free, sold singly or as a three-bottle Mood Toolkit, and come from a founder who spent twenty years building brands for other people.

Preppi

Preppi makes emergency preparedness kit bags for earthquakes, hurricanes, blizzards and fires, with kits for homes and cars and a lifetime warranty.

Cloudy Lane

Cloudy Lane's "Cloud Bars" are soft, gluten-free cookie bars made with almond flour and organic coconut oil. They come in boxes of individually wrapped bars, on subscription if you like, as a grab-and-go sweet treat.
