How to Get Your Brand Featured on Previewer
What Previewer covers, what we look for in an emerging brand, and how earned editorial coverage differs from paid advertising, plus how to pitch us.

If you run a young consumer brand, you have probably wondered how a product ends up in a Preview, a founder interview, or the Wednesday newsletter on Previewer. The short answer: we pick it, on the product alone.
Here is the longer version, written for founders: what we look for, how our formats work, where advertising fits, and how to pitch us.
For founders
What is Previewer?
Previewer is an independent product-discovery publication for emerging brands across CPG, gear, tech, home, health, and wellness. We try to reach a brand while telling readers about it still matters, well before it becomes the default pick in someone else's roundup.
Carson and Callahan Hinckley started it. The brothers grew up stacking boxes in their family's cable tie warehouse and watched good products struggle because nobody knew they existed. Callahan had read how one feature on Uncrate sent a small brand's sales soaring, and he wanted that kind of break to exist for growing brands. That is still the idea: a brand should get seen on merit rather than marketing budget.
Product Previews run on weekdays and the newsletter goes out on Wednesdays. Around those sit founder interviews, gift guides, and category hubs like our emerging drinks and desk setup pages.
What gets a brand featured on Previewer?
Coverage is an editorial call, and we make it on the product alone.
First, it has to still be emerging. Once a product owns every endcap and every best-of list, it belongs to someone else's beat. After that we want to know who built it and why. A dietitian in Des Moines who wanted something better in her glass than NA beer and diet soda. Two brothers hand-pouring concrete car sculptures because most gifts felt disposable. A specific reason to exist shows up in the product.
We also need to be able to say plainly what's in it: named ingredients and doses, materials you can point to, specs that hold up. A proprietary blend or a vague hero claim leaves us nothing to tell readers. And the product has to work as the thing it is. A drink should taste like something people finish, and a desk mat has to survive a full workday.
Finally, we need enough to go on. We read everything a brand publishes and talk to founders when we can, so a clear product page and a founder willing to answer questions go a long way. We'll miss brands, and we'll be early on some that never get big. That's the trade for covering what's next.
How is a Preview different from a review?
A Preview is our close read of one emerging product: what it is, who built it, what's actually in it, and who it's for. It is a first look rather than a lab score. Each Preview opens with a short TL;DR, lays out price and specs at a glance, sets the product beside what a shopper would otherwise buy, and closes with pros, cons, and the people it fits best.
We'd rather be early and specific about one brand than comprehensive about twenty. Hands-on Stories are a separate format, and we write them only when one of us has actually lived with a product, the way Carson did after ten years on standing desks.
What is a Previewer founder interview?
Founder interviews are Callahan's beat, and each one works from a consistent set of questions. Founders tell us what they make and who it's for, the moment they decided to build it, how they launched and found their first hundred customers, the hardest part nobody sees on social media, their biggest milestone so far, how they use AI, what's coming in the next six months, and which under-the-radar brands they'd point readers toward.
The answers get specific. Taylor Grasso explained how Hy-Vee reached out shortly after Pesche launched and became its production partner, a retail partner, and an equity holder. Jhonny Delgado talked through sourcing rare Rocoto peppers from Peru for the family recipe behind Delgado's Fuego. Mateusz Haberny walked us through turning a home workshop in Poland into Oakywood, a solid wood workspace brand. Readers finish knowing the person behind the brand as well as the product.
Can brands pay to be featured?
Brands can advertise with Previewer, and advertising stays separate from editorial. Paid options include sponsored posts on the site, featured placements in the weekly newsletter, dedicated newsletter takeovers, LinkedIn brand features, Instagram product reviews, YouTube short-form reviews, and bundles across several channels. Anything sponsored, gifted, or provided by a brand carries a clear disclosure at the beginning, such as "This post is sponsored by" followed by the brand's name.
Earned coverage is the other side. Our editorial Previews, interviews, and hub picks run because we decided the product deserved our readers' attention, and sending a free sample doesn't buy a place on the page. If you want visibility around a launch, advertising is the route. Book through Passionfroot from our Advertise page, or send your brand, campaign goal, launch date, and budget range to ask about current audience numbers, rates, and availability.
How do I pitch my brand to Previewer?
Use our contact form and choose "General question or editorial pitch" as the inquiry type. Sponsorships have their own option in the same menu, which keeps an editorial pitch apart from an ad conversation.
Then write the pitch the way we'd write about you. Tell us what the product is and who it's for, who built it and why, what's in it or what it's made of, what it costs, and where people can buy it, with a link to a product page that carries real specs. If there's a founder story worth telling, lead with it.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is editorial coverage on Previewer free?
Yes. Previews, founder interviews, and guide picks are editorial decisions made on the product alone, and there's no fee to be considered. Paid placements exist separately and are always clearly labeled as sponsored.
Does sending a free sample guarantee coverage?
No. A sample helps us understand a product, but it doesn't buy a place on the page. Coverage depends on whether the product is still emerging, clearly made, and genuinely worth our readers' attention.
What kinds of brands does Previewer cover?
We cover emerging consumer brands across food and drinks, gear, tech, home, health, and wellness, with a focus on founder-led companies that haven't yet become the default pick everywhere else.
What should a pitch to Previewer include?
Tell us what the product is, who it's for, who built it and why, what it's made of, what it costs, and where to buy it, with a link to a product page that has real specs.
